How long does it last?
Results are said to last from 6 months to up to 2 years for facial tightening treatments according to the manufacturer. However, ongoing maintenance will be required more frequently for older people and for those with poor skin quality to begin-with, as a result of smoking, sun exposure, alcohol consumption etc.

Are there side effects or risks?
The use of Accent™ may cause any of the following:

  • A heating sensation or pain during the treatment or immediately post-treatment. This pain is expected to be mild, and should disappear within a few minutes.
  • Mild erythema or reddening of the skin may appear in the treated area, which is likely to disappear within 24 hours.  
  • A  feeling of dry skin may occur during the first 12 hours post-treatment. It usually disappears within 48 hours. Lubrication with aloe-vera can be helpful.

How many sessions will I need?
 A treatment session can be expected to last about 25-40 minutes and are usually recommended once every 1 - 2 weeks with an average of 8 sessions in a body treatment program.
This may be followed by a maintenance session in 1 - 3 months time.

It is recommended to have a course of 4 sessions (once every 3 - 4 weeks) for facial tightening.

The Accent™ device is a state-of-the-art Radio- Frequency (RF) heating source for aesthetic and cosmetic applications. BiPolar Handpiece

 

The Bipolar RF RF hand piece penetrates between 2 to 6 mm into tissue - reaching adipose tissue and cellulite. Heating to these tissue depths therapeutically improves local circulation, promotes fibrous tissue breakdown, and helps to manage areas subject to edema by promoting the re-absorption and drainage of retained fluids and toxins. Accent® RF technology may facilitate and enhance the breakup of adipose tissue; helping to mobilize and eliminate fat deposits - non-invasively.

The Accent™ Unipolar hand piece allows deep controlled penetration of RF. The unipolar hand piece contains an RF-resonant system, a thermo-electric coupling (TEC) cooler and a red pushbutton for activating the system. The freehand, dynamic (rubbing) technique employed using the unipolar hand piece enables rapid, safe, and effective treatment without the need for disposables, ground electrodes or stationary maneuvers. The popularity of this new technique lies in the speed of its operation and performance (dynamic), as well as the fact that it involves no wound care or patient down time. Accent® does not require coupling gel, return electrodes, or very good contact (pressure), and can be used in motion, with no adjustments for changes in fluence.
